Trombone // Band President, Brass Captain

How has being in the Bridgeland High School Band changed you as a person?
The Band has helped me become a more disciplined and purposeful person. The atmosphere of success that is created helps keep me in line and make sure I am always putting my best foot forward. I also have better ability to always do things that make an impact on others. The Band molded me into a person who cares about others, which translates into me making more purposeful decisions.
How has band helped prepare you for life after high school?
Band has demonstrated that hard work and determination always lead to some sort of success. I’ve learned that being good at something is never about when people are watching, it is all about when no one sees how much effort people put into a project. Band has really shown me how to be productive in life.
How has band helped you build friendships or a sense of belonging?
The Band has helped me to build relationships over our own successes and failures. I think we all walk away from summer band having a stronger bond because we all know that it isn’t easy.
Why do you believe programs like this deserve financial support from the community and businesses?
I believe programs that make a unique impact on every individual deserve to last a long time and be successful because programs like the Band are where people find their true passion. The Band has shaped me into who I am, and I think so many more kids deserve to have that same feeling.
