How has being in the Bridgeland High School Band changed you as a person?

Band has definitely shaped me as a person. It has pushed me out of my comfort zone many times and has helped me to be more outgoing. Being a leader has also forced me to step up into a new role where I can help others and support those around me. I have become more confident in my own abilities, and I feel more capable of doing hard things.

How has band helped prepare you for life after high school?

Band has helped me to build relationships and connect with others. It has taught me how to create special bonds that will last over the years as well. Also, band has taught me how to manage my time through school, homework, volunteering, and practices. I know how to spend my time and where to prioritize events.

How has band helped you build friendships or a sense of belonging?

Band has helped me to gain friendships that have been so special to me. Everyone in band is welcoming and supportive, and the people in band are easy to bond with. My most memorable moments are spending time with my friends in band. The long, hot days of practices, competitions, and games have developed into precious memories that I have made with my favorite people.

Why do you believe programs like this deserve financial support from the community and businesses?

I believe programs like this deserve financial support from the community and businesses because these programs are so important to so many people. Not only does this program provide special connections to those involved, but it is even more special when around four hundred kids are working together as one family to create an unforgettable experience all together. I believe programs like this deserve financial support because it provides unity all throughout the band as well as the community.
